Sociology |
Involves studying society and how individuals are affected/influenced by it. It looks at how an individual's identity is created by institutions, family, and friends. Social media and communication also play a huge role within sociology. Social media shapes society by displaying unreal expectations and people try to live up to them regardless of how unrealistic they really are.

definitions |
Over the years, education has changed drastically in order to try and meet the ever-changing needs of society. Formerly, the formal definition of education was “Education is the bringing up, as a child; instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline, which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manner and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties”. Presently, education is defined as “the act of process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge and of developing the powers of reasoning and judgment. The act or process of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession”.

Education/culture |
Education is a huge part of our culture and society. It is different in each culture because they have each developed ways in which education works for them. They each have different values and beliefs about the education system, which can greatly influence the teaching and the learning. Culture determines the type of education, the importance of education, and the resources available for education.

Ethical Issues |
A catastrophe is an event causing great, and often sudden, damage and suffering. Donating money is the fastest, most efficient way to get help to people who are living in a disaster zone. Donations allow for relief agencies to purchase supplies that they need based on the population’s specific needs. Therefore, financial contributions allow for the affected population to receive supplies and help as quickly as possible.
A conflict is a disagreement, but that does not necessarily involve fighting. Conflict exists in any situation where facts, desires, or fears pull or push participants against each other or in different directions. Ideally, conflict resolution is collaborative problem-solving, a cooperative process that leads to choosing a plan of action that both "sides" can feel good about.
A problem or situation that requires a person or organization to choose between alternatives that must be evaluated as right or wrong. Examples include abortion and cloning.
